Girl Scout cookies and freedom of the press

Freedom of the press and Girl Scout cookies

This is just odd.

Apparently, some poor, oppressed Knoxvillian can’t sell Girl Scout cookies on Craig’s List, even though hundreds of people are doing it on Ebay. Somehow, this becomes a freedom of the press issue and calls into question whether or not we really live in a free country.

Wow.

The alpha mudbug

The alpha crawfish, shortly before his roiling demise on Saturday night. He somehow managed to escape while the dogs and I were down at the dock, and Gilligan was duly terrified of him when he found the giant mudbug scuttling along the kitchen floor.

But then who am I to be critical of poor Gilligan. I’m holding that killer mudbug with a pair of tongs in this photo …

We did the full boil, complete with corn and red potatoes, hush puppies and catfish. Then Herb, Glenbot and I retreated to the basement for a zombie night that was invaded by vampires and capped with the ultimate zombie epic, Cemetery Man.

Somehow, ripping the heads of crawfish seemed the perfect prelude to zombie night …
