When I first discovered HDR photography, I pretty much ran amok. The surreal, saturated images it produced left me breathless. Apparently, they’re now creating HDR video. This should be interesting.
In a New York Times obituary of George Hitchcock, the founder of Kayak poetry magazine, it noted the publication carried the following motto in every issue:
“A kayak is not a galleon, ark, coracle or speedboat. It is a small watertight vessel operated by a single oarsman. It is submersible, has sharply pointed ends, and is constructed of light poles and the skins of furry animals. It has never yet been successfully employed as a means of mass transport.”
Nice.
My new favorite radio station …
I listen to a lot of online radio. But there’s one station I find myself returning to like an old friend these days: WWOZ in New Orleans.
It’s eclectic. It’s witty. It’s rough around the edges.
Most stations eventually toss something my way that prompts me to jump somewhere else. That almost never happens with WWOZ. When I turn them off, it’s because I won’t be in earshot and don’t want to waste bandwidth …
