Sailboats at Concord Yacht Club shimmer in the sunrise on a cool September morning. When I started paddling this summer, one of my goals was to get to Concord Park and back, which is about a 12 mile roundtrip. This photo proves I made it. It took almost three hours roundtrip and nearly killed me. But I did it. I was paddling my new QCC kayak, which has been a dream and extended my range greatly compared to the 12-food Old Towne canoe I was paddling initially. I've created a Flickr set that details my paddling misadventures.. Lara seemed duly impressed when I told her I'd made it to Concord Park, but she winced when I told her my next goal is to paddle to New Orleans ... Maybe I should try for Lenoir City or Knoxville first.
