Lara bugs out ...

Lara's new job gave her a case of new car fever, which she used as an excuse to secure a VW beetle, which she's long coveted.

Not surprisingly, Spiney opted for the aquarius blue version. Hmm.

I keep a gorilla mask in the glove compartment that I wear when I have to be seen in it with her ...

I've posted a few photos of her in the new car on my Flickr account.

Uhhh...who wears the gorilla mask when you're up on the ladder cleaning those leaves out of that gutter ;-)

Lara, welcome to the Bug Sisterhood! And this is a sisterhood, honey, because no straight man would be caught dead at the wheel of one of these babies. This is a total chick mobile. This does not mean Beetles are girly cars. My 2002 Turbo Bug blows most muscle cars off I-10; it's got a 150 hp Audi engine, a total rrrriot girl car.

More importantly than my Bug's engine specs, though, is the color: Sundown Orange. When people gape at my little orange race car, I tell them I watched too much Dukes of Hazzard while I was an impressionable teen-ager.

Yeehaw.
